"We adopted our last dog from them we were properly checked for the safety of our garden and we then adopted the most amazing little dog called Jade she was perfect never had to be told off was house trained and cuddle trained, she was the most amazing dog I have ever had so Stour Valley Dog Rescue do a brilliant job with all the poor dogs that need homes, I think if some people have problems with their dogs maybe it is the owner that is the problem not the dog you have to take care of them. Had my say and I am confident that it is all true."

We adopted our beloved dog 5 years ago from SVDR. We visited her at Shillingstone and they then checked us and our home to make sure we were right for her before allowing us to adopt her. We had four & a half loving years with her until last year when sadly we lost her to cancer."

"I have been working alongside sharon and the rescue for almost 7 years and she is nothing but an inspirational hero. The hard work & dedication that she has for these dogs is nothing short of miracle work! We have adopted from her also and she has been by our side from the start with any issues and even helped with vet bills.""

"I have had a rescue dog for three years from the kill centre in Roumania. He had a condition which we knew about and Sharon paid for all his treatment until he was in the clear and he also had to have an operation from, we believe, where he had been kicked and was torn inside. He first went to a foster carer for a period and was assessed for his needs. My home was inspected and he lived with me for a trial period. All food and needs were paid for by the rescue centre. From not knowing what a toy was or treading on grass plus wary of bid dogs, he is the most loving, now gentle dog as he knows he is safe and loved. Sharon has always been there for help and endlessly raises money for the well-being of the dogs. She is a caring, compassionate and exceptional human being who is doing the right thing"

"We adopted our gorgeous dog Grace from SVDR last September. Prior to this they sent a lady to do a home check, we were asked lots of questions to establish suitability for the dog we applied for, then had two visits before being able to bring her home.
We received lots of follow-up texts and messages to ensure we were happy with how things were going and that our dog was settling in ok. We were offered support both regarding neutering and any behavioural issues should they occur.
After a couple of months one of the support team came to visit us and then almost 11 months since Grace was rescued from the dog pound, Sharon came to see us and once again reminded us she was always there should we need support.
We cannot praise Stour Valley Dog Rescue enough. Our previous 3 dogs came from Battersea Dogs Home, RSPCA and Blue Cross. None of them followed up like this, so we are extremely impressed with their excellent service to ensure their rescue dogs are placed in the right homes. I recommend them to anyone thinking of adopting a rescue dog. Respect and gratitude always."

"We have nothing but praise for SVDR. Halo came to us 4 years ago having been brought over from Romania. She was well cared for, vaccinated with passports etc before adoption and a short spell in a foster home to make sure she was suitable for adoption and with what sort of family. She has been part of our family for 4 years and we wouldn’t be without her.
Thank you SVDR for bringing our little ray of sunshine into our lives.
Keep up the fabulous work 🥰"
